Technology Internet TV Show

Ask the Techies Internet TV show (VODcast) at Ohio University has started it's 3rd season. Everyone uses a personal computer, but many people find it more worthy of the name "personal confuser."

Ask the Techies breaks down that confusion via a mix of hosts and on-computer-screen video capture. The hosts not only explain the content but make the viewer feel comfortable with technology. This is an interactive show where people can “ask the techies” questions via e-mail. D.Lee Beard and his co-hosts then answer these viewer questions on camera with a full video explanation to make sure the viewers don't miss a thing.

Ask the Techies offers videos on demand that students of all ages including faculty and administrators can watch/listen to over and over again as often as needed for free (as well as commercial free!). Faculty can even link to our videos for course instruction.

Recent videos have covered e-mail etiquette, Mac vs. Windows, online map resources, transferring huge amounts of data from one computer to another (Mac and PC), iMovie, placing videos into PowerPoint presentations as well as making them cross-platform, and using Photoshop's extraction tool.

Upcoming episode topics include audio editing, video editing on Linux, low vision resources for Mac and Windows, running Parallels, LCD vs. Plasma screens, dealing with NTSC and PAL video formats, Final Cut Pro for the iMovie user, and more!
